HeartWork By Jackson Shuri 2015

This work is inspired by The Heart and the Work involved in sustaining the Heart In all Matters.

This is a work on canvas, however its not totally flat as we see Jackson has included elements that are exceeding the boundaries of the square canvas.  We see materials such, galvanized metal wire and galvanized expanded metal wire mesh used to make the Heart and band of the composition.

See how subtle the signature patterning of Jacksons'  style appears in the composition, the work has a minimal feel, it is very sophisticated, and modern.

THis work is available in the this is for you shopping cart section of this site, it yours for the taking one of a kind, no reproductions, no prints.

Yes Your Life Matters By Jackson Shuri 2015

Yes Your Life Matters By Jackson Shuri 2015

Yes Your Life Matters was inspired and created to  highlight and support the movement that came to be as a result of the unfortunate happenings in our popular culture as it pertains to Life!

Ideas Around this Painting

Yes your Life Matters If Value Is Placed and Appointed to your life by the Powers that be.

Unfortunately there are Biases that still exists in our culture leading to the need for expressing the value of life.

There are Sub-culures within each racial groups that needs to be examined as the value of life is still delicate among people of the same racial ethnicity.

Caution: All people need to be cautious as to how and where and why decisions are made!!

The Human element should be respected no matter what

This art work is cut out in the middle of the word LIFE to emphasize the "IF'' in the word LIFE.
There is also a cutout at the Word "YES"

The Pink Vertical drips or runs down the painting symbolizes the Blood that's shed when a life is taken violently.
The Green Represents life and renewal, yellow represents, the fact that one needs to be alert and smart about decisions made.  White represents the Spirit, and Sacredness of LIFE and blue represents the  that fact that we all need to just calm ourselves in unsettling situations and see both sides of the coin.

The mesh represents GRIDs. It represents the population, and the layering of cultures within a given society.

This is a culturally relevant work and a multi-layered conversational piece.

Falls By Jackson Shuri 2015

Falls By Jackson Shuri 2015

This work was inspired by water, pebbles, and the almighty falls.  Orange and blue are perfect complements in this composition. The orange of the falls represents the lifeforce of the alls and the current of water.

Again the artist is using materials that pushes the boundaries of the conventional canvas, creating more excitement in the work. This 24''x24''.1.5'' work now has added depth because of the way in which the artist places the  Zinc that is used to support and represent the base of the falls.  The Sheet Metal  on top is the cliff which the water runs over.

Enjoy the subtle play of blue on blue, that pulls you into the force of the composition, with designs intended to represent rocks.  Enjoy imagination at work, this somewhat minimal but involved work is on of it kind by Jackson Shuri.

The Wall By Jackson Shuri 2015

The Wall By Jackson Shuri 2015

This artwork was created in response to the September 16, 2015, Republican Primary Debate. In particular, its a response to Business Mogul Donald Trump's Solution to the U.S Mexican Border Situation. "I Will Build A Wall, A Great Great Wall, The Wall of Trump."

The orange, yellow and blue outlined cells are  a metaphor for the people Trump intends to keep out of the U.S.A.  The rusted Sheet Metal is the is the actual wall, and the zinc being reflective serves as an extra layer of reinforcement. The reflective nature of the zinc is also intended to reflect the image of the people building the wall and questions their humanity. The steps built of the sheet metal material represents this grate wall that no matter how hard one tries to get over it, it's not reachable because Trump will mechanize ways to ensure this evil plan is materialized.

THis angle shows off what's the underside of the composition. Look at the patina of the rusted sheet metal,  the rich earth tones that came to be naturally.  Jackson Shuri is good with her use of colors.

Pushing The Evelope By Jackson shuri 2015

Pushing The Evelope By Jackson shuri 2015

This work is inspired by the fact that, Artist must rip and tear at the fabric of reality, and society.  It's ok  to not fit in or not be enveloped by the system. The overwhelming passionate red of the composition, symbolizes power in pursuing passion.  The next time you look at an envelope, don't see it as containing something, rather see it as a vehicle to transform something.
